In this file ./md-addins/MonoDevelop.MonoMac/MonoDevelop.MonoMac/Project/MonoMacBuildExtension.cs
we error if we can't find signing keys. I spent an hour trying to sort out my signing issue before I noticed there was a setting under
Project Settings -> Mac OS X Packaging -> Code Signing Options -> Identity
if that is set to "Mac Developer Application (Automatic)" I see the error. However if I switch to
"Mac Developer (Automatic)"
it works fine. We should update the error message (and maybe others in that file) to point to that dialog.
I have checked this issue and now we are getting proper error message for this case using xam.mac 126.96.36.199-1
Error message : "Error: No valid Mac OS X code signing keys found in keychain."
Hence closing this issue.
