RESOLVED DUPLICATE of bug 15962

Description Matthias Mailänder 2013-11-30 10:42:44 UTC
$2.TabsToSpaces = False is set at GlobalSection(MonoDevelopProperties) = preSolution see https://github.com/OpenRA/OpenRA/blob/bleed/OpenRA.sln for the complete project file. I also have a custom "OpenRA" profile where "convert tabs to spaces" is unchecked. This also applies to my global settings. MonoDevelop however ignores every single switch. This has been introduced in MonoDevelop 4.2.0 and both 4.2.1 and 4.2.2 are effected. As you can imagine this is really annoying.

We also provide an https://github.com/OpenRA/OpenRA/blob/bleed/.editorconfig file. Would be cool to have Xamarin Studio support that, too.

To precise the problem: the editor takes the TabsToSpaces bool from the text file setting, not the C# file setting. Unchecking TabsToSpaces everywhere (XML, text, ...) solves this as a workaround. See https://github.com/OpenRA/OpenRA/pull/4191
