VS 2010. Project builds fine. Doesn't happen on other projects
Today we have checked this issue and we are not able to reproduce this issue.
Can you please provide some steps(or screencast) and sample application so that we can reproduce this issue over here.
I tried to copy the project to the PC, and the problem went away. I even tried to recopy back the project, but the problem remained on the Mac.
I tried removing progressively a number of files and now and then it went away. But it wasn't always the same files... now there are a lot of files in the project: can that be the problem ? (like 400 I think)
Confirming it: I tried with different project. If the project is on the Mac, in a while I'm progressively seeing all icons marked with yellow triangles. On the PC, none.
Now: would you suggest to keep all the projects on the PC ?
I don't know what version of of .net you have installed, but starting from 4.5 the default trust for remote files has changed to NOT trust them which sometimes prevents VS from opening them (or even deploying some projects). This is the setting:
adding it to devenv.exe.config should make things work smoother.
And yes, keep the files on PC.
Uhm thanks for the info ! However, I'm afraid it's at least something to do with file count. With a few files it won't happen...
It might be limitation of CIFS/SMB on the number of simultaneously opened files or something related.
Uhm excellent suggestion. Made me crazy testing for causes, weird thing I never found anything on VS support forums
