RESOLVED NORESPONSE

Description stevens 2013-11-11 13:35:53 UTC
I have noticed that despite my build output\log settings in VS, the output for Android projects appears to be very verbose.

I'm using VS 2013 and the alpha channel.

FYI Xamarin Studio is a separate IDE, not the VS addins.

Can you elaborate on this, perhaps with some examples?

Xamarin.Android 4.10 now sets the MONO_LOG_LEVEL environment variable for Debug projects (not Release projects), setting it to `info`. This will result in additional log messages written to `adb logcat` and the IDE's Application Output window when running the application.

(I would thus consider this "Application" output, not "Build" output, but without any examples I'm not entirely sure what you're referring to.)

If this is unacceptable, you can override the MONO_LOG_LEVEL default to remove the additional logging by adding an Environment.txt file to your project, setting the Build action to AndroidEnvironment, and adding the line:

    MONO_LOG_LEVEL=
