RESOLVED FIXED

Description Chris Hardy [MSFT] 2011-10-19 06:50:43 UTC
Anyway, my issue is that it looks like monodevelop isn't able to handle spaces in my SVN paths / urls. Fortunately I've only got one project in my repo with a space in the name and can just rename it worst case... or switch over to the command line or whatever so not a big issue.

Specifics are: It says the url "is malformed or the scheme or host or path is missing".

I'm not 100% on this... but at this point I just know that works fine with all my projects except for this project and the only difference is that this project has a space in the name... so I'm definitely making an assumption here, but it seems like a logical assumption. I can test it more and send you more when I have some more time if you like.

We should also verify that this works with git
Comment 3 Alan McGovern 2011-12-01 06:55:16 UTC
It's possible we just need some URL escaping for these kinds of files. Looking at this now
Comment 4 Alan McGovern 2012-03-08 11:24:41 UTC
This has been fixed for a good while now.
Comment 5 Chris Boehm 2012-07-30 14:53:54 UTC
Problem is happening to me and I'm using Monodevelop 3.0. I have a screenshot if you'd like to see.

Malformed url error message for SVN

When using SVN, if there is a space in a directory name an error is thrown by Monodevelop.
Comment 7 Alan McGovern 2012-11-22 07:05:11 UTC
This is definitely working for me now. I can expand nodes with spaces in the name just fine. If you can reproduce this with the latest 3.x builds please reopen the issue, but as far as I can tell it is fixed.

Version 3.0.5 - Malformed URL error message

Still seeing this bug in version 3.0.5 of Monodevelop. I'm purely guessing here, but maybe it has something to do with the fact that I'm using the HTTP protocol and not SVN (I'm connecting to an SVN-TFS bridge). Or maybe it has something to do with the level of nesting involved?
Comment 9 Dylan 2013-01-31 16:40:39 UTC
I can also confirm that I am still seeing this bug in MonoDevelop 3.1.1. I am also using the HTTP protocol and using SvnBridge. I can connect to repositories without spaces fine and I can also connect to the repositories with spaces through xCode without any problems.
