Description Mohit Kheterpal 2013-10-16 15:03:53 UTC
[Condition] Invalid license is present on disk
[Condition] No user is logged in

Steps to reproduce :
1. Open VS
2. Create or open any iOS application

Actual Result : User is redirect to login page.

Expected Result : User should not redirect to login page when no user is login. It should display pricing trigger with options Begin a trial, Purchase a License and Login with Xamarin Account Similar as it appears with expired license on disk.

Environment info :
VS 2012 / 2013
MTVS 1.6.95
MT 7.0.3.194

mtvs 1.8 does the correct thing in this scenario. Users are redirected to the log in/create account page. Once logged in their licenses will be synced if they exist, otherwise they will be asked to start a trial if one is available or to buy a license. If they have already used their trial they will only have an option to buy a license.

It is not possible to start a trial without being logged in so that work flow will not be supported.

Ok so it does indeed make sense to offer just Login to invalid users with License sync, so we'll update the expected behavior.

However, this should be the workflow Login, not the website login.

So the case should be updated to say:

1) Trigger a license sync with invalid licenses on disk

Expected:

User sees the login workflow step, and can log in through the IDE, or click the link to create a new account.

Thanks Alan!

Today we have checked this issue with following builds :

VS 2013
MTVS 1.8.106
MT 7.0.4.118

Now we are getting expected result as mentioned in comment 2 i.e. "User sees the login workflow step, and can log in through the IDE, or click the link to create a new account."

Hence verifying this issue.
