VERIFIED FIXED

Description Daniel 2013-10-14 08:55:40 UTC
This is a reopening of Bug 8045. Steps to reproduce:

1) Create a Xamarin.Android project
2) Add a project configuration with a name with a space (such as "Release 2")
3) Build the project. Should work.
4) Try to build a package. Fails with MSBuild error MSB1008.

This seems not to be broken in Xamarin Android 4.8.1 but in 4.8.3.

This is a Visual Studio add-in bug. I cannot reproduce within Xamarin Studio, nor can I reproduce from the commandline, e.g. this works:

    > msbuild /t:Install "/p:Configuration=Release 2" Project.csproj

Visual Studio, meanwhile, reports:

> MSBUILD : error MSB1008: Only one project can be specified

This sounds like a quoting bug; the configuration name isn't being properly quoted, and thus it looks two project files were specified.

Fixed in XamarinVS/master/108efaed02 and cherry-picked to mtvs-1.6-series
