Steps to reproduce:
Create a Xamarin.iOS solution on your mac.
Open that solution using VS 2012.
You are prompted for an update to Xamarin.Android.
Click Download
IDE locks up.

Is it prompting for an update to Xamarin.Android or Xamarin.iOS (just to be sure)?

What versions of iOS/Android etc are you using? I've been unable to replicate the lock up so far.
Comment 2 James Clancey 2013-10-08 13:18:21 UTC
I was on the latest ios/android alpha. Before the newest alpha.

James,
Updates dialogs have been reworked and should no longer pop up. You are now
notified of updates and an icon in the toolbar will not launch the updater,
when the user feels they are ready. I hope this helps.
