Description Christian Krause 2011-10-16 14:06:48 UTC
Building the vala extensions monodevelop-vala-2.8.1.tar.bz2 fails with the following error message:

cp MonoDevelop.ValaBinding.dll.config ./build
cp: cannot stat `MonoDevelop.ValaBinding.dll.config': No such file or directory
make: *** [build/MonoDevelop.ValaBinding.dll] Error 1

The reason is, that the file MonoDevelop.ValaBinding.dll.config is referenced in the Makefile(.in,.am):

ASSEMBLY_CONFIG = MonoDevelop.ValaBinding.dll.config
...
        cp $(ASSEMBLY_CONFIG) $(ADDIN_BUILD)

but neither does the tarball monodevelop-vala-2.8.1.tar.bz2 contain the file nor it is auto-generated. Since the file is present in git (
https://raw.github.com/mono/monodevelop/master/extras/ValaBinding/MonoDevelop.ValaBinding.dll.config ) I assume that there is just a minor issue building the tarballs.

This is an report for a really old release. Closing the issue.
