RESOLVED FIXED

Description Jérémie Laval 2013-09-21 19:38:11 UTC
When scrolling to/opening a document that contains a long line (e.g. in my case a long single-line verbatim string) the IDE beachball for a while.

A kill -QUIT make it look like it's stuck on Pango:

Comment 1 Mike Krüger 2013-09-22 00:15:19 UTC
Avoid very long lines - it's a general bottelneck.
Comment 2 Jérémie Laval 2013-09-23 11:57:00 UTC
Don't put as a wontfix, a text editor shouldn't care about that stuff. It can be marked as low priority/enhancement instead.
Comment 3 Mike Krüger 2013-09-23 12:00:08 UTC
no - it's a wontfix because it's a limitation in our technical decision. I know about limits of our technology - other pango editors (like gedit) have the same issue with long lines.

If you want to track these limits use trello - it's no place in the bug tracker for this kind of stuff IMO. That'll be solved when we switch the technology - it's not a 'todo' item on it's own.
Comment 4 Mike Krüger 2013-09-23 12:02:24 UTC
Hm, however I wanted to try out a work around with different 'partitions' for this issue - I reopen that one.
