Trace Log

I am looking for some help on Xamarin.iOS for Windows. I have tried adding a new Xamarin.iOS Unit Test project to a solution within Visual Studio 2010. As VS attempts to create the project, I get a couple of errors, and ultimately, the project never gets created nor added to the solution. The errors are displayed in four separate dialog boxes, and all deal with not being able to find various image files within the project template directory.

The images are: "Default.png", "Default@2x.png", and "Default-568h@2x.png". Ultimately, I get the following (4th) error message... "Unable to copy the file 'Default-568h@2x.png' from the project template to the project. Cannot find file C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Local\Temp\1baddtjg.5ox\Temp\Resources\Default-568h@2x.png".

I am running this Visual Studio instance within a VMWare Fusion virtual machine hosting Windows 8, on my MacBook Pro laptop.

I thought about trying to find the proper PNG files on the Mac side, and including them into the template folder, but when I looked at the path to the folder, it seemed obvious that is merely a temporary folder, and any possible solution would be short-lived...I'm assuming a new temp folder would be created the next time I try to create another project. Kindly advise me how to proceed. Thanks.

This is likely a duplicate of bug #13614.

I checked the current Alpha version (1.4.2), and unfortunately it looks like the fix didn't make it into that release, but it'll be out soon hopefully!

I have checked this issue with following builds:

VS 2013/2012/2010
Xamarin for VS 1.12.247
X.iOS 7.2.1-63

I am successfully able to add iOS Unit Test Project in iOS solution and solution gets builds successfully.
