Description Takács Béla 2013-08-08 07:53:51 UTC
Hi,

Xamarin Studio keeps crashing on opening ANY axml file of an existing (on-going) project in Design View since yesterday’s update. I’ve not encountered with this issue before the last update.

In the meantime, please let me know how I could revert to a previous version of Xamarin Studio quickly (without messing up the license) as I have a milestone on Friday to reach (it wasn’t a clever idea to update just before a deadline).

Please find the stack trace below:

Value cannot be null.

   at Xamarin.Components.Ide.LoggingService.LogError(String messageFormat, Object[] args)

   at System.Diagnostics.Process.OutputReadNotifyUser(String data)
   at System.Diagnostics.AsyncStreamReader.FlushMessageQueue()
   at System.Diagnostics.AsyncStreamReader.ReadBuffer(IAsyncResult ar)
   at System.IO.Stream.ReadWriteTask.InvokeAsyncCallback(Object completedTask)

thank you,
Béla

I fixed this crash, but looks like the layout render is exiting. Is there anything in the log about why it's exiting early? The log directory is AppData\Local\XamarinStudio-4.0\Logs

Here's a link to 4.0.10: http://download.xamarin.com/studio/Windows/XamarinStudio-4.0.10-7.msi

The error message is same in the log:

I have checked this issue with following builds:

All Windows
X.S 4.2.3(build 127)
X.Android 4.12.0-8

I am successfully able to open .axml file in android designer. This is the screencast for the same: http://screencast.com/t/C1Ht7Wbf
