Description Glenn Stephens 2011-10-08 20:50:45 UTC
The project that I have been working on is since the MonoDevelop 2.8 upgrade is unable to start a debug session from the toolbar

The project can be built in Debug mode from using the toolbar buttons, but when the run application is selected then the build log lists the error: "Build failed. Object reference not set to an instance of an object". The Startup project is set.

When the project is right clicked and the Debug option is selected from the context menu it debugs and connects fine.

There are many component involved into build the application (several parts of Mono, MonoDevelop and MonoTouch).

Please paste (or better attach) a full build log so we can see where the build fails and determine what could be the cause of this NullReferenceException.

Thanks!

This bug has been in the NEEDINFO state with no changes for the last 90 days. Can we put this back into the NEW or CONFIRMED state, or are we still awaiting response?

If there is no change in the status of this bug over the next two weeks, this bug will be marked as NORESPONSE.
Comment 3 Glenn Stephens 2013-11-19 17:13:16 UTC
This bug was resolved. Later versions of Xamarin Studio made this disappear.

This fix is planned to be released with Xamarin.iOS 7.0.6, which should hit the beta channel before December 23rd.

I have checked this issue with following builds:

All Mac
X.S 4.2.2(build 2)
Mono 3.2.6
X.iOS 7.0.6-164

Now tool bar has changed and we are successfully able to debug/run application after clicking on Start button from toolbar.

Changing the status to Verified.
