Please create a new report on
Developer Community or GitHub with
your current version information, steps to reproduce, and relevant error
messages or log files if you are hitting an issue that looks similar to
this resolved bug and you do not yet see a matching new report.
Steps to reproduce this issue:
1. Open Android sample 'DynamicTest'
2. Build the application.
Actual Result: Application giving build error on Mac Lion "/Users/nischal/Desktop/9thJuly/monodroid-samples-master/DynamicTest/DynamicTest: Error XA0000: Unexpected error - Please fill a bug report at http://bugzilla.xamarin.com. Reason: System.IO.DirectoryNotFoundException: Directory '/Users/nischal/Desktop/9thJuly/monodroid-samples-master/DynamicTest/DynamicTest/obj/Debug/__library_projects__/System.Json.Next/library_project_imports' not found. (XA0000) (DynamicTest". While on ML this application build successfully.
Expected Result: Application should build and deploy successfully.
Supplement info: Build Output
X.S 4.0.9(build 15)
REGRESSION: Working fine with stable Xamarin.Android 4.6.8
This looks to be related to a similar environment issue filed earlier. Please ensure your monodroid-samples directory is up to date and clean by running the following in the monodroid-samples directory:
> git clean -xfd
> git reset --hard HEAD
> git pull
And then attempt to rebuild the sample. I am unable to reproduce this issue locally.
So it looks like this issue/error is popping up in a few other bugs. While the workaround may be to clean and rebuild there is something causing people to get this message.
A few other bugs that match on the error message: bug 13010, bug 13087, bug 12938.
JonP, can we just mark these all as duplicates of 12938?
PJ: These are dups of Bug #12938 if they all fail ONLY on Starter edition. This bug doesn't mention if this was observed for only the Starter edition or for any license.
I'm only seeing it in the Starter Edition (which is annoying as it should be the business edition on my laptop but I can't authorise it as such!)
It is also in the latest versions on the alpha channel
Marking as a Dup of Bug #12938 as per Comment #5.
*** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 12938 ***
Today, we have checked this issue with latest builds:
Lion OSX 10.7.5
XS 4.0.10(Build 5)
Now, DynamicTest application builds and deploys successfully without any error.
Hence, closing this issue and changing its status as Verified.
