A screenshot of the errors I get trying to open the .sln file.

Description of Problem:
I recently installed Xamarin Studio on my Windows desktop, but I cannot open C# projects in Xamarin Studio that were created in Visual Studio 2010, and Xamarin Studio does not have a way to create a new C# project unless it's an ASP.NET or Android app. I assume this is a bug or some other issue with my install because I've previously used MonoDevelop on the Linux partition of my laptop with no problem.

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. Open a clean install of Xamarin Studio
2. Select File > Open... and then open an .sln file.

Actual Results:
If I try to open a C# solution from Visual Studio 2010 the solution file itself will appear to open correctly, but it gives me "Unsupported or unrecognized project" errors for every project in the solution. Furthermore, I cannot recreate the project using the code files because there is no way to select a non-Android or non-ASP.NET C# project.

Expected Results:
Opening a solution from Visual Studio 2010 should open the projects as normal.

How often does this happen?
Always.

Additional Information:
I used the installer linked to on the mono-project.com website.

Could you please try with a more recent version of Xamarin Studio. Those issues should be fixed.
Comment 3 Dale Johnson 2015-08-26 10:42:28 UTC
I honestly don't have that version of the operating system installed anymore, so I cannot test it.
