@chris can we get more of an idea for how your envisioning this? Just an option in the right-click menu?
A mock for this would be great. Then I can create a Trello card.
So Chris, we used to have a feature that sort of dealt with this functionality, but it was getting in the way before, it wasn't the best design, and it wasn't super clear how it worked. So we took it out with plans to reimplement it later, which I think is what you're describing here. Here is the trello card for it: https://trello.com/c/AG2SfW3o/103-more-options-for-dealing-with-resources-directly-when-editing-a-designer-item-on-the-canvas
However, it is blocked until we implement https://trello.com/c/JGKeig2R/88-a-sort-of-model-like-roslyn-dom-to-manipulate-add-delete-resources which is slated for C10.
One of our ideas was to add a button like this to the Property Panel (and this card could be potentially tied into the first linked feature card https://trello.com/c/TKYskONY/100-extract-to-resource-button)
We are still flushing out ideas on this, so if you have anything to contribute, it'd be much much appreciated! :)
