RESOLVED FIXED

Description Mikayla Hutchinson [MSFT] 2013-05-29 15:30:27 UTC
I don't have any docs in tooltips for anything in Mono.Android.

MonoDoc shows the docs just fine.
Comment 1 Mike Krüger 2013-05-31 04:07:40 UTC
Seems to be a problem in monodoc:

ERROR [2013-05-31 10:06:42Z]: Error while reading monodoc file.

Comment 2 Mike Krüger 2013-05-31 05:23:03 UTC
The ID string given wasn't null - it was valid.
Btw. I get an obsolete warning about

helpTree.GetHelpXml (idString);

I now try to:

var rawGen = new RawGenerator ();
var xml = helpTree.RenderUrl (idString, rawGen);

But I don't get any exception - it just doesn't work for Android.

Test: idString == "T:Android.App.Activity" should give back something.
Comment 3 Jonathan Pryor 2013-05-31 14:53:26 UTC
The exception is removed in mono/f38e6bb3, causing the method to return `null` when the URL can't be rendered.

The question then becomes, why isn't the type found in the first place?
Comment 4 Mikayla Hutchinson [MSFT] 2013-05-31 16:59:15 UTC
I found the real culprit.

[16:56:29] <mhutch> so that's why we don't have XA docs in MD
[16:56:30] <mhutch>	 System.IO.Directory.EnumerateFiles ("/Library/Frameworks/Mono.framework/External/monodoc", "*.source")
[16:56:37] <mhutch>	 { "/Library/Frameworks/Mono.framework/External/monodoc/MonoTouch-docs.source" }
[16:56:57] <kumpera> and nothing for XA?
[16:56:58] <mhutch>	 apparently EnumerateFiles doesn't like symlinks
[16:57:22] <mhutch>	 GetFiles works fine
Comment 5 Rodrigo Kumpera 2013-06-04 18:51:17 UTC
Fixed on d6fd0cde054da374b223d36f3c7696f4a197d131 will be part of 3.0.12
