Description Mikayla Hutchinson [MSFT] 2011-09-30 21:45:38 UTC
The document switcher isn't fully usable on MacOS Lion because Lion has default global bindings for control-left/right/up/down.

I tried rebinding it to use alt-tab instead, but that had a few issues:
* The window only closes when control is released (it's hard-coded)
* The Alt-up/down command was passed through to the window below and altered the document. It shouldn't be possible to activate other commands while the switcher is active.
* Alt-tab seems to be the mac shortcut for navigating around widgets, so we probably shouldn't use it anyway.

up/down don't really matter, because that can be done with control-tab/control-shift-tab. But we need some way to switch between pads and documents. Maybe space would work?

And we should disable global activation of commands while the switcher window's open.

I made a new one that was better, but miguel requested to revert that back.
I don't think I want to maintain that thing anymore, because I would make it wrong.

I think we can close that - you put in the old one and took out the colors.
Comment 4 Mikayla Hutchinson [MSFT] 2012-04-02 16:34:07 UTC
The original issue remains: "The document switcher isn't fully usable on MacOS Lion because Lion has default global bindings for control-left/right/up/down."

Confirmed. Also, the options to access the open Pads are accessible without using the mouse which kind of defeats the purpose of having a key binding.
