your current version information, steps to reproduce, and relevant error
messages or log files if you are hitting an issue that looks similar to
this resolved bug and you do not yet see a matching new report.
On right clicking on a file in a project (e.g. txt file or XNB file) and setting the build action to AndroidAsset.
The IDE will attempt to set the build action and subsequently crash. This occurs very frequently and makes the IDE unusable.
Could you attach the logs from %LOCALAPPDATA%\XamarinStudio-4.0\Logs?

H, the crash trace doesn't seem to be in the logs. Do you have any way to see a native trace?
Not sure what you mean by native trace.
It's probably crashing in the native UI toolkit, which means we can't crash and log the exception. If you have Visual Studio, it will offer to attach to the process when it crash. If you attach, you can view the native stack.
The callstack it comes up with is [External Code]. But I noticed in the threads section it shows the calling function:-
