VERIFIED DUPLICATE of bug 10530

Description Erlend 2013-03-25 10:13:02 UTC
As mentioned in bug 10530: the Build->'Package .. for Android (.apk)' option still seem to be disabled in visual studio 2010 and 2012.

I've tried to enable 'release' mode and toggle the 'Shared runtime' option on/off.

Is there something else i need to do?

Need help building APK ASAP.

Hi Erlend, that bug has been fixed but not yet released. You should find the fix on the beta channel soon.

For now, you should always be producing an .apk when you build, so you can look in your output folder for the .apk as a workaround.

Hope this helps a little bit!

PJ

the project im working on does NOT produced an .apk.

i have another newer test project which does produce the .apk in the output folder at: [project_name]\obj\Debug\android\bin.

at the same time i've just created another new project which does NOT produce an apk. i've tried to look at the project properties for differences, but cant find any.. confused.

ok - if i deploy the app, the apk is copied to the output folder, but not on normal build action.

Today we have checked this issue on following builds :

VS 2010 / 2012
MFA 4.7.07004

In debug mode

If the shard runtime is enabled then package APK is disabled under build option.
If the shared runtime is disabled then package APK is enabled under build option.

And after clicking on 'Package APK',APK file gets generated at project location
under Release folder.

Hence changing its status to verified.
