In Xamarin Studio 4.0 (build 2003), the 'Errors' pad covers up the bottom portion of the text editor. In other words, I can't see the last few lines of code in the text editor when the 'Errors' pad is displayed.
I don't see this. Do you have a screenshot?

I attached a screenshot. Now that I'm looking at it again, I think it might work this way by design. When I dock the 'Errors' pad, the last few lines of code in the editor are not covered up.
Yes, that's by design. Note that you can easily switch a pad between docked and autohide modes by double-clicking on the header.
