When I first installed MonoDeveloper 4.0 (Xamarin 4.0), I got a message:
Some dependencies need to be updated
Xamarin Studio requires a newer version of GTK+, which is included with the Mono Framework. Please download and install the latest stable Mono Framework package and restart Xamarin Studio.
I have Mono MDK (MRE) installed.
Most likely the message is correct. You need Mono 2.10.11 installed as your default Mono. Mono 3.0.3 won't work, it includes an older version of GTK+. We will have a 3.0.4 package soon that will include the newer version of GTK+.
Note - please reopen if my diagnoses is wrong, and you have Mono 2.10.11...
Today we have checked this issue with following builds:
Mono 2.10.12 (mono-2-10/823e22f)
X.S 4.0 - 1645b898271456799b70944c8b356ed6c5c00fdf
We are not getting this message while installing X.S and XamarinStudio get installed successfully.
Changing the status to Verified.
