VERIFIED DUPLICATE of bug 10489

Description Felipe Leusin 2013-02-20 22:32:55 UTC
Whenever I try to create a new project or open an existing one I receive an error message when I try to access the log I get the message below. I also get various messages regarding MonoDevelop.Projects.Policies.PolicyService all over the service.

Mono for Android on Visual Studio works fine, the problem lies with Xamarin Studio on Windows 8. I`ve tried to run it using administrative previleges with no luck.

Here`s the error message:

System.Reflection.TargetInvocationException: Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation. ---> System.TypeInitializationException: The type initializer for 'MonoDevelop.SourceEditor.DefaultSourceEditorOptions' threw an exception. ---> System.TypeInitializationException: The type initializer for 'MonoDevelop.Projects.Policies.PolicyService' threw an exception. ---> System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
