RESOLVED DUPLICATE of bug 3561

Description Miguel de Icaza [MSFT] 2011-07-15 17:48:50 UTC
mtouch reporting armv6 - this is a UI problem in MonoDevelop.

The option menu in “iPhone Application” doesn’t affect the target arch command line args sent to mtouch.

We’ll be fixing that, but a way to work around it in the meantime is to add --armv7 to the additional mtouch arguments.
Comment 1 Miguel de Icaza [MSFT] 2011-07-15 17:49:39 UTC
Comment From Sebastien:
AFAIK we're always AOTing armv6 unless LLVM support is enabled (then armv7 and thumb2 options are available).
While possible (for mtouch) to enabled LLVM for iPad-only projects it would greatly affect the time required to compile the projects (and would not be compatible with softdebug).
Comment 2 Sebastien Pouliot 2011-10-10 22:00:52 UTC
I was wrong - it looks like our AOT compiler can generate ARMv7 but this is not, right now, compatible with using --debug.

The whole discussion is part of bug #952, once that's fixed then we should let MD addin UI allow ARMv7 to be selectable without LLVM.

-> monodevelop
